This is a coloring book based on The Tale of Genji, a famous Japanese classic literature by Murasaki Shikibu during the Heian period. I drew all the illustrations in the book to match the story. To capture the lifestyle and culture of that time, I reread the literature multiple times.

In 2024, the theme of NHK's Taiga drama is the life of Murasaki Shikibu, the author of The Tale of Genji. I'm really grateful to be able to see the world of The Tale of Genji brought to life through real visuals!
